I absolutely LOVE this store!! The girl that worked on Halloween was so beyond sweet and helpful!! They have a to of selections and its really organized to make things easy to find. I found two KoRn records still in the plastic and some great classic records too! I drove from dyersburg and I'll definitely be making that drive again!
Wonderful place for vinyl enthusiasts. Alot of records to thumb through. Well organized and the young lady that worked there was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back.
When I found out that Union City was going to get a local vinyl record shop a few years ago, I was genuinely excited. I didn't expect a record store to pop up in town but I've been a fan ever since. It's a small little shop but it's packed with new and used inventory. I'll usually dedicate an hour every so often to just go in and browse. I can't tell you how many great 45s from my youth I've found digging through boxes. I like to collect vinyl but I mainly try to find good used records that are reasonably priced to play around the house. I've come home with a lot of great finds. I love having The Record Shop so close to home and try to get downtown at least once or twice a month to make sure I support them as a local business. ——— (July 2024): Just a quick update since the new owners took over in late 2023. The new owners have really put a lot of work into revamping the shop. They put in a table where you can sit down and browse potential purchases and now they even have a listening station to check out your vinyl before you buy. Definitely one of the bright spots of downtown Union City. They’ve made me a loyal customer and if you stop in, I’m sure you’ll feel the same.
The record store was awesome, the people were so nice , they helped me in so many ways. Very helpful in looking for a special gifts for my granddaughter, the staff went beyond helping. I will continue shopping there. Thank you.tim
Amazon has no comparison here. This is a speciality shop for prerecorded music of all types. It reminds this shopper of the old music stores where vinyl recordings meet magnetic tape for tunes from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, through some of the revivals os recordings to those media types. When I entered this store I felt S if I had stepped through a time portal into the ages prior to "digitally remastered" recordings. The man who identified himself as the owner's son, is very knowledgeable and skilled with his craft. Not only does this establishment sell records and tapes, bit one may also purchase the stereo deck and speakers to enjoy your-newly purchased audio medium. So many have forgotten the ingenuity of piecing together their "best" sound system to listen to their personal favorites. Visit the Record Shop just off the main downtown strip in Union City. You won't be disappointed of "stepping through a time zone" (Moody Blues).
