Fat Cat is one of the best record shops in Seattle. Great mix of used and new, nice pricing, and the cats who work there are super friendly and knowledgeable. Plus there’s parking!
When I moved back to Seattle, I was searching for the go-to local record store that specializes in buying and selling vintage vinyl. So many shops in the area say they do, but they often under-deliver on both selection and value. Then I stumbled into Fat Cat Records in Wallingford, and I knew I had found the real deal! The store is super easy to get to, with parking right off of Stone Way N. The owner, Frank, is awesome. He took his time to make sure I found exactly what I was looking for, and even made some great suggestions I was impressed by. There was zero sales pressure. Just incredible customer service and next-level knowledge. I was blown away by their selection of vintage Reggae and Jazz LPs, and found some rare presses that I couldn't find anywhere else in town or even online. Everything was priced so much better than other nearby shops. I ended up buying 8 records and over 20 CDs (all in amazing condition). Frank and his crew are next level: super helpful, and they have everything you need if you’re looking for high-quality, used vinyl, CDs, cassettes, or even audio gear. If you're in the Seattle area, I highly recommend stopping in to check them out. You won't be disappointed.
Great little record store. Has a choice selection (not huge, but has gems), a listening station (which every record store should have) and a relaxed vibe (🤙🏼 ). They have books, CDs and tapes as well as vinyl.
One of the best record shops I've been to in a while! So much range for a little store, I loved it! I found an old record that I've been looking for in shops for ages. They also sell CD's! Lovely staff, lovely vibes, very nice. Five stars 🌟
I guess they may have the most reasonable prices for their vinyls and CDs I have been around Seattle area. Hard to believe they just opened 8 months ago since they have got all these old stuff. They have got tons of collection of vinyls and hundreds of CDs. Not like other record stores, they don't rise the price for classic masterpieces records. You can even ask the staff to play the old used record for you. This place is so amazing.
