Pretty neat little shop! The shop kitty is sooo sweet, be sure and get your pets in. Clerk was polite and helpful.
Cool little spot. Has some good. Vinyl selections. The other parts of the business model make it a bit odd when making a Vinyl purchase.
Keep places like this alive! Everything you need is here! Be sure to pet Garfield!
i love this place. they have a great selection of records both new and old. they were also able to order some records that i had trouble getting my hands on. i also love getting to see their cat garfield any chance i get. the staff and owner terry are always super friendly and chill. what more can you ask for? if you’re a vinyl enthusiast, i definitely recommend this place. consider me a customer for life!
Updated on April 12th RSD! This was a fun one. There were so many to choose from this year. I always like the Doors and their releases every time. They keep bringing them. I do wish all the 60s & 70s veteran heavy-hitter bands would be able to release something regularly like 'the Doors' seem to do for every record store day! John and Robbie, the remaining two alive in 'the Doors,' know what the long-time fans are seeking. They conduct regular vinyl and digital releases and contests or website discounts by flash meme updates on social media. I’ve been a noticeable follower here at Evolution since their other store opened across from San Jacinto College. Now, the San Jac store it is long closed. I did find a few jewels at that store over several years of entering its door. Records that still remain in my vast collection today. I left Baytown store with the usual arm full of vinyl. And still, I had another five I put back on the shelves. Until a later date, if I feel the need to still add it on. Funny, I seem to recall which ones I put back in their growing inventory. They have been making room for some additional vinyl. Since the compact discs and dvds have gone by the way side. due to digital streaming. Although, next they’ll probably need some record crates on the floor slid under the floor record bins due to lack of room for any more shelf space. Like I remember, at the long closed Infinite Record Store, once reining supreme record shop on Westheimer Rd in Houston, during the fm radio for the KLOL years in Houston, used to have and place instore a few long rubber mats for the bending knees for pain relief. The number one reason people today don’t crate dig much is there's some discomfort involved. I do i kneel sometimes at Half Price Books and Records in Clear Lake due to their limited record bins and floor space. I once found the entire US catalog reissues in great shape and priced, very affordable for the English rock band the Who down below. Since 1972, an over fifty year old business in Baytown. They have been around in time for the independent retail store standing. Enough now to deserve the honor of receiving the rare distinction of RSD Record Store Days, for all (1 vinyl of each artist) for their mysterious hushed releases that are mostly very limited, bi- annually. This year secretly went out to the Wicked soundtrack! One thing the owner likes to do is listen to his used stock for the bargain bins and instead of grading with the standard VG or NM he writes a sticky note included to describe a 'pop' or a 'skip' or a warped vinyl. They do deserve an engraved shiny brass plaque from city hall.
