Drew, partners and staff: For many decades Downing Record Company exclusively pressed with Rick Smith Customs in California because of his quality of work. EchoBase surpassed my wildest hopes for my son's "Gus Hergert, Volume 1", which was pressed with you over the fall of 2025. Certainly I have to do my job as a producer and studio owner, Eric at Independent Mastering has to do his usual stellar job with Mastering and Acetates. And the Stampers have to be well made. But your folks at EB make a wonderful product. Test Pressings are usually done to "very good" standards but yours were shocking in their superior quality. You produce an ultra-high quality vinyl with very low noise floor and tremendous transfer of tracks. The feedback I have recieved from professional friends and reviews on AL.com have been glowing. From Matt Wake, AL.com (11-21-25): "Gus Hergert IV’s new album is a worthy finale for Downing Sound’s all-analog era. Recordings of songs like “Fade On Out” and “Come Home With Me” sound old, in the best way. New vinyl with digital in the sound chain can often sound like a less compressed compact disc. But the sonics on Hergert IV’s all-analog album are what you’d hear on super-clean vintage vinyl. If you like Tom Petty, The Band, and Wilco records, you’ll probably groove on this". While Downing Record Company has never been a high-volume presser of vinyl, we have had more than 200,000 vinyl copies made over our 50-years of operations. I congratulate you as a small and upcoming company trying to do vinyl, and do it well, in a tougher era than I went through in the 70s and 80s. I wish I could make this more than 5 stars! Echo Base made it very easy on an artist that was releasing on vinyl for the first time! Kaitlin explained everything up front, asked questions when needed, answered questions quickly and we ended up with an AMAZING product. Highly recommended! Will use Echo Base for all of our future pressings!
