Decatur CD & Vinyl

A friend of mine had to stop their purchase yesterday after the owner went on an anti-semitic rant. Not sure what is going on with the owner, but it's fitting a pattern of behavior that would just have me recommend going anywhere else.

Truly great selection but not good vibes from the guy who works in there. He doesn't have a card machine on the counter, and so he asked for my PIN when the payment didn't go through the first time. When I said that I would prefer to put my PIN in myself he sarcastically said "So you are going to walk all the way round the counter and put it in?" He then went into a mini tirade about fraud and why he doesn't have a card machine on the counter for customers because it wasn't private and people were stealing PINs. Because of course getting customers to say their number out loud in a store is far better! The whole thing was so bizarre. So as I said, great selection, but be prepared to have a strange encounter, as so many others like me have had...

2nd time going and the old man working their was acting weird again, last time he offered to help me look for a cd I wanted so I took up on it but he was acting irritable, this time I didn’t take up on his offer for help but he wouldn’t stop staring at me then I asked him if he’s good and he makes a big deal about me walking around the store looking but not buying, god forbid I want to look for what I actually want, I’m not obligated to buy anything to be in a store 😂 he tells me to go back to wherever else I buy my music, which is weird, why wouldn’t you want customers at your store? I hope this isn’t like a race thing as I am Hispanic, but it just sounds weird coming from an old white guy, I just call him weird and walk away cause he’s old and not worth my time, but i think he made the other girl uncomfortable because she left right after watching the incident and she had barely arrived before the incident, she was minding her business but this man was being unnecessarily loud and aggressive and after I left he runs behind me talking about some “DONT COME BACK HERE” like some cartoon character 🤣, I hope he isn’t the owner because this is some real immature behavior, honestly would encourage to shop at other cd stores in ATL or Duluth area, the older white men I’ve encountered at cd stores in those areas are kind, professional and have never acted like this towards me

This place has an amazing selection and the most wonderful owner, Warren. My car was booted in this lot by an external company (nothing to do with Decatur CD) and Warren offered to pay the fee because he is just an incredible person. I will shop here for the rest of my time living in Atlanta, it is such a great place and has everything you need. Just be careful in the parking lot!! ❤️ you Decatur CD

INCREDIBLE rock and indie vinyl selection here! We had a great time browsing today and I can’t believe we didn’t know about this place sooner. We found so many vinyls we’ve never seen irl before. Definitely recommend checking this place out!
