My review is based solely on the Cardi B meet and greet event, as I never made it inside the store. They seem to be a great place to buy music but I can’t stress this enough, do NOT go to a meet and greet. The disorganization was so bad. I think they had good intentions but it all fell apart. I also feel they scheduled the time of the event based on their schedule and not the artist. I purchased an autographed CD from their website. This should have gave me my number for the line but that’s not how they did it. It was first come first serve so I arrived at 9:30 am. The event was supposed to start at 1:00. I received a wrist band and my CD at 12:30. The CD was NOT autographed. From there we sat in the blistering heat for hours. We were stuck in lines with no instructions. I was there alone and couldn’t leave the line to find relief from the sun. They did hand out a few cases of water but we asked for more around 2:00 and they said they were out. No access to restrooms, food, shade or water. It was too much and completely unnecessary. I felt like I was going to pass out so I left at 3:30. I emailed afterwards about my CD not being autographed and they told me to come back to the store to swap it. I live 30 minutes away. Why would I drive back for a CD they probably signed themselves? I watched a video from Cardi B’s social media and she asked if we had water and snacks. DBS told her we did. That’s a lie. This was poor event management. The only positive was the amount of law enforcement on site. Had they not been there, things probably would have went south due to the conditions and tempers rising. I wasted a vacation day from work to attend this event that was a mess from start to finish.

DBS sounds Riverdale got the hottest and latest Hit music and classics with Great variety. Staff amazing great personalities and gonna get you taken care of every time. Trust me. Great Great Great!!!

I wanted to share my wonderful first experience shopping at DBS, a member of a nationwide network of Black-owned music stores. For an exemplary experience, I highly recommend visiting them! I initially went in looking for one vinyl, but thanks to Mooch, I left with many more. His customer service and vibe were absolutely top-tier. They offer a convenient listening station, or they can even play items for you directly in the store. Mooch also informed me about several upcoming in-store artist appearances across various genres. DBS truly has it all. A week later, I returned and had the pleasure of meeting the man, the myth, the legend himself, Tobago! He has been a prominent figure in the community for years and has set the standard with his extensive knowledge of music. Whether you're looking for vinyl, CDs, or DVDs, this is the place to go. I can't list everything they offer, so I simply encourage you to visit! They make everyone feel incredibly welcome, and I left feeling like I had connected with a new family.
