Darkside Records

Decided to start the new year right with a visit to Darkside. Haven't been since 2023 and find myself going too far, IIRC. Follow the GPS anyway guiding me to the "new" facility @ 32 Cannon Street. WOW, formerly a Masonic Temple, the space has been transformed to 2 floors of multimedia goodness as of this writing. Eventually with live performance and refreshment spaces. Can't wait. Meantime, great selection of vinyl, CDs, DVDs, games, merch and audio hardware as in 611.

I have only shopped online and... let me tell you these people Rock!!! they are so friendly and so well rounded at their job. I will be a very repeated customer. Google needs to invent the 10 star rating!!!

Top notch record (and CDs and movies) store. Don’t have a turntable or cd player? They have those too!

I don’t recommend ordering records from this company. Ordered records December 6th with the impression they would arrive in time and they did not. Records shipped 10 days after the order was placed. Records arrived the day after Christmas. This really didn’t bother me as I’m the one who decided to order these records in December instead of sooner. However when I received the records one of them was incorrect. Tried to contact the company via email with no response. Waited patiently as I know they are a small business. Didn’t hear back so I contacted them via instagram with no reply. Texted a phone number that their automated instagram response said was the best way to reach them and never received a response. I finally left a comment on an instagram post and they have responded and sent me a shipping label to send them the incorrect record back and they will issue a refund. I am highly disappointed in this whole experience. And I still won’t have the record that I ordered. Will not be using this company again. They get 2 stars because 3 of the 4 records I ordered were correct.

They just moved to a new location and it is stunning! The new location looks vibrant! I love all the records everywhere and upstairs on the second floor where their CDs are and it looks like a library for CDs. The staff is always there to answer questions if you need them too! Highly recommend stopping by and taking a look!!!!
