I always enjoy visiting this shop. Vanessa is friendly and helpful. The selection is diverse. Pricing is reasonable. The closest I can come to a complaint is that my love for Crystal Ball Records may lead me to collecting cassettes again, which I NEVER thought I'd do (LOL)! Simply put, Crystal Ball Records is exactly the type of business I love supporting.
As soon as my partner and I walked in we were greeted into a very inviting and friendly environment. The store is decorated with a personal touch with lots of interesting things to look at. It was nice to just take everything in and browse through the bins of records. One detail I thought was very interesting and unique are the diy dividers between the records. Everything was very organized and clean. This was my first ever experience going to a record store and I was thoroughly impressed and excited for my future in this hobby. I would definitely make the trip up there again. I recommend checking this store out!
Owner is smart and experienced. She actually seems invested in her business and passionate about music. Alot of these stores around the area are run by people who seem to just want to ride the wave and make a quick buck of a rising trend. This one is not one of those places.
Crystal Ball Records is a truly magical and unique shop. The owner is full of knowledge on various genres of music and pop culture. The owner is also incredibly kind and helpful. The shop is decorated in all things spooky and alternative. Yet still showcases every genre. There are always new finds and forgotten finds, always something to peak your interest. This is my absolute favorite shop for everything music. 💗
Crystal Ball Records always has a great assortment at good prices. I purchased Rainbow’s “Long Live Rock ‘n Roll,” and “Odessa” by The Bee Gees. “Odessa” was reasonably priced despite being in great shape after all the years since 1969, and it had a unique velvet cover; the Rainbow record was also vintage and reasonably priced, an awesome addition to my Ronnie James Dio collection. I hadn’t listened to these two albums before, and if Crystal Ball’s prices hadn’t been so reasonable, I wouldn’t have purchased these unfamiliar records, and also wouldn’t have discovered the songs within them that I like a lot now. The owner has always been knowledgeable and friendly ever since my dad and I met her at The Nevermind Shop’s former location in Upton MA. I’ve twice traded in some records, and Crystal Ball’s owner gave me very fair compensation in cash and store credit. Long Live Crystal Ball Records!
