Bull Moose (Plaistow)

So happy to have found this gem in Plaistow. Very welcoming vibe between the friendly employees, music, and fun signage (the Heated Rivalry sign made me laugh out loud). At the 50 cent discount book bin I was shocked to find best sellers and Pulitzer finalists. My total was $23 for 15 books - what a steal! Excited to go back

Employee run company. There's a lot of reasons to go here. They are super helpful. They can order anything that is still in print. I call to special order stuff all the time and they're always willing to order it if they don't have it. Their prices are reasonable and they have a lot to choose from. This place carries books, CDs, movies, vinyls, toys, you name it. And they have a rewards system! Totally going back here for future orders!

Okay, let's start positive. They have a huge selection of dvds/bluray and video games. Including retro games with books and records. Now, that being said, the prices are ridiculous. There's no need to be paying such high prices. I'm finding used copies of blurays that are priced more then brand new. I was so excited to be a first time customer a couple weeks ago but nothing was worth it to me. I decided to buy a random bag of blurays and 2 of them were repeats and 1 wasn't a bluray. Wasn't impressed. It's the same experience going to Newbury comics.

I really enjoyed Bull Moose I went to take a friend the other day because he was looking for some vinyl records, which they had a good variety (I want to say way more than Newbury Comics and a few other places I have checked out). I also love the fact that they also had cassette tapes, CD, old video games for PlayStation 1, 2, 3 and some good amount of comic books, DND items, CD/DVDs. I was pleasantly surprise they also buy back some of those items. I kind of want to go back and get the cassette player and some collectables. Good parking space, quite area, place was pretty chill, prices are fair, worth a visit for those like me from the 80s/90s lol.

Huge selection of books, CDS, DVDS, Blu-ray video games, vinyls and assorted knick knacks related to movies or pop culture. Friendly staff. I have visited multiple times in the Salem store with my kids. My kids always find it to be an adventure. Update: March 2025; I finally had a chance to visit the location where they moved to in Plaistow. It reminds me of the Portsmouth store with the size and setup. Same friendly service and a good selection! I recommend a visit.
