I absolutely love this place. Out of the 3 main record stores in Greensboro this is my go to. The owner knows his stuff and prices everything properly, I will say there’s some that’s outrages but very few… at least for my music taste… I have been here multiple times and have made a purchase every time…. Very welcoming and has a nice vibe. Well organized and has a wide selection of different genres! I even recommended him to my friend and my friend liked it so much he bought a First pressed Alice In Chains Jar of Flies/SAP for a steep amount!!!! Needless to say this place is NICE!!!
First time in NC visiting from Santa Cruz CA and planned to check out quite a few stores today, ended up spending all my time browsing the store and chatting with Mike. I didn’t need to go any further than Buffalo Boogie. Amazing selection of Metal and Hard rock 1st pressings that are not often found these days, I had to be more selective than I would have wished. Great store Mike!
Visited twice, purchased once. The prices here are too rich for my blood. The selection seems decent, with some interesting things near the front door like sealed releases of old records, but I find the overall organization of the store frustrating. There is too much stock out for customer inspection that isn't priced (on my most recent visit, there were several crates full), with signs asking us to just bring it up for pricing, which I find off-putting. If you're going to charge a premium price for records, at least take the time to price them. The owner is friendly enough and I've chatted with him a bit the two times I visited. But I buy records for listening, not as an investment or commodity as sellers and their pricing Discogs would lead folks to believe, yet I have a feeling it's that source that informs most of the pricing here. I really need to break myself of the habit of looking for reasonably-priced used albums, because I think the time for those has come and gone, and my pockets are not bottomless. I do appreciate that this store exists at all, having been through the premature extinction of vinyl some decades ago and the demise of the "first wave" of Greensboro record shops, which certainly weren't perfect but due to their pricing were a lot more fun to spend time in.
Had an amazing experience at this shop. I’ve been to several in Greensboro and this is hands down the most welcoming record store. Had a ton of rare finds and the price was very reasonable. Spoke to Mike who told me all about his shop and I’m just blown away by this place. This will be my go to vinyl store from here on. Awesome store Mike!!!
The BEST RECORD STORE IN GREENSBORO. While hidden just off Spring Garden, this is by far the best record store I've been to, with amazing, rare, sealed finds, as well as a plethora of records you didn't even know you wanted until you walked in the door. The owner is incredibly nice and will help you find anything you want or play test anything you want to hear. I plan on making this place a regular place I go to anytime I'm in Greensboro! Note: Don't go with a big group. Store does have a limit of four people in the store at all times, given the pandemic. It is also a knock first entrance and the owner will have to let you in, so have patience and he'll help you out with getting in and any wait you may have. Wear a mask!
