So nice there. Very busy. Was expensive for the records I bought
Gosh I love this place! Killer used CD collection, always a lovely record on the stereo as you browse. A must stop for the greater Burlington area, and one of the jewels of the Vermont record store crown.
Very poor communication and their nonchalant approach to actually getting me my money after taking my records. The first two batches, they called me within an hour and paid me cash. The third time it was, “maybe we’ll get to it today or tomorrow”. Fine. Stuff happens. I always brought no more than 30 records to make it easy on them. By 3pm, and no call yet on the second day I called and Shawn said oh yeah they’ve been appraised but I can only pay you in check now and Greg should be in sometime tomorrow as he is the only one who can cut checks. No specific time. Their whole business model is based on people like me selling records. I become the wholesaler. I thought there was a protocol in place based on the first two experiences. I would have appreciated honoring that and moving forward establishing the new maybe tomorrow, maybe the next day, or maybe the next day attitude. Maybe the owner giving his employees the power to pay people would help. The whole reason I sold these records so cheap was the convenience and ease. This last time not so much. I’m done with this group.
Friendly staff. Beautiful store. Great selection. One of the greatest hidden treasure troves of hip-hop records I’ve come across in a long time. Only in the homeland of Noah Kahan will you find reasonably-priced Griselda represses.
The record selection at Autumn is pretty solid with a good selection of represses and new releases. For new records it's probably my favorite location in the area. Greg sold me a pair of used Polk RTA-12As and a used Sony amp. The amp works great. But when I got them home I found one of the woofers was blown. I wish we had tested them before I left the shop. It's possible it happened in transit. Anyway quick call to Greg and he had me bring the speakers back. He confirmed the diagnosis, ordered a replacement and installed it for me. I just had to pay for the woofer, which was fair to me (I didn't have to install it!). All in all it was good deal for some truly amazing speakers. I don't know what he paid for them but I felt like I might have done better in the deal. 😁 They can count me as a loyal customer. Parking in the Winooski circle can be annoying during rush hour, so just be aware.
