AMain Hobbies Chico Store

This is a great hobby shop! The online ordering experience was great and the order shipped immediately and it arrived in about two days! The shop is only an hour and a half north of my location so this is a place I will visit in person soon for that "full immersion" experience.

First, I'd like to start by saying that in-person communication is not my strong suit. I have slight social anxiety, and I sometimes struggle with my words. My visits over the last few days to Amain Hobbies, however, have led me to take the time to find the best way to articulate my experiences properly. After our busy Christmas, my partner and I decided to take some R&R for ourselves and spend the New Years in Chico, CA. We came here specifically for Amain Hobbies. Unfortunately, our experience was less than enjoyable, primarily due to the staff behind the counter. They were consistently very rude. Of course, in any customer service industry, there will be waves of people coming in and out of the store. Unfortunately, it was clear that the staff was untrained in dealing with high volume guest service in the store. It was obvious that they had no understanding of customer service, media, or products released by the store, and with a lack of business practices to retain customers, this all became frustrating. Since it was our first time here, it was a confusing, frustrating, and unwelcomed experience that we are certainly not keen on trying again. We spent 4 days in the area, and during every visit to the retail store, the staff visibly showed their frustrations with me as a customer (as well as the other customers in the store) time and time again. Walter, specifically, treated me with disdain and a poor attitude. I haven't participated in the RC industry for about 15 years, so I had lots of questions about the modern state of RC. If a customer asks questions, they shouldn't feel like they are a frustration or problem to the staff, especially customers spending the amount of money we did at Amain Hobbies. The only positive aspect of our experience at Amain was the presence of other racers who came there for the hobby. They came together to help and teach one another. The staff needs to be given a lesson in manners, specifically in dealing with customers—new or veteran in the hobby. We certainly hope that management finds a solution for this issue. If it was our business, unfortunately the individuals with attitude problems would be terminated, given their actions during our time here, but we can also see the management issue that needs addressed here as well.

Took my 10 year old son there to have a good time in Chico ca No rentals all the crawlers broken my son brought his slash they said to drive it in the parking lot no track for that so I asked to buy a car for the carpet track they said they didn’t have none after hanging out for a while I decided to ask again they sold me a tiny car for 100 say it was suitable for the carpet track but it was slow. And not what my son expected. Beware they talk on the phone like they are setup but when you get there you get rude staff with no cars for rent or sale they take you to a computer next to the register to look for your self no help they could care less if your kid has a good time definitely for adults not kids told me to my face that they don’t have anything to drive but on the phone there telling people to come in and drive something lol what a waste of time I drove 1.5 hours to get shut down only reason I gave two stars because the tracks are free but I gladly would of paid for a good time for my 10 year old son thanks to the customers who let my kid drive there r/c and helping him with his drift car

I made the holy pilgrimage. Worth every mile. Crawling, drifting, oval, and flat carpet racing tracks. People having fun on all of em. Bunch of models on display to admire.

AMain has a large selection of RC toys and accessories as well as some super fun rc tracks. The employees are very knowledgeable, helpful and fun to talk to as well.
